Step1
Decide on where you want to store your kayak. You'll need an area that stays dry and can adequately fit the kayak inside. Many people keep their kayaks in a garage or shed.
Step2
Dry the interior of the kayak. Your kayak will likely have a drain plug to help you get rid of any water. Use a towel to dry the seats as well.
Step3
Hang the kayak on a rack. Many kayak owners install a rack to hang up their kayak. You can find these racks available at any sporting stores that sell kayaks. Use the included belts or ties to secure the kayak to the rack.
Step4
Place the kayak on blocks. If you don't want to install a rack, you can store your kayak on a flat surface using blocks to elevate it. The elevation prevents it from getting dirty and attracting mold growth.
Step5
Use a tarp for outdoor kayak storage. If you don't have the indoor storage space for a kayak, then place the kayak on blocks outdoors with a tarp over it.
