How to Make a Bacon Cheeseburger
Bacon cheeseburgers are one of America's all-time favorite foods. If you've got a hungry family waiting at the end of a busy day, a houseful of teenagers or a traditional outdoor barbecue, fill them up with a juicy bacon cheeseburger. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 8 slices of thick bacon
- 4 slices of American or cheddar cheese
- 1 large onion, sliced rings
- 4 large hamburger buns or kaiser rolls
- Tomato slices
- Lettuce

Fry the bacon until it's slightly crispy and place it on a paper towel to cool slightly. Crumble the bacon and set it aside.

Mix the ground beef with the barbecue sauce.

Divide the ground beef mixture into eight portions and shape them into thin patties. Put a spoonful of crumbled bacon on each patty and top it with a second patty. Press the patties together to seal them with the bacon in the middle. Set them aside.

Heat the grill and cook the hamburger patties for 5 to 6 minutes or until they reach your preferred level of doneness. Put a cheese slice on each cooked patty and leave it on the grill until the cheese melts.

Put the patties in the buns and put the bacon cheeseburgers on a plate and cover the plate with aluminum foil until you're ready to serve them. Serve them with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and condiments of your choice.
