Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide on the style of the chair. Consider who you are purchasing the chair for. For instance, if you are buying it for the president of the company then choose an executive office chair which are usually made of leather. If the chair is for the office receptionists, then pick a style that is more simple yet still durable.
Step2
Choose a chair that has swivel legs. Most often, regardless of the position or use of the chair, swivel legs are a great benefit to have. They make reaching for the phone, turning to the filing cabinet and even standing up from your chair much easier with just a twist in your seat.
Step3
Pick a chair that has several adjustable features. Many chairs come with adjustable armrests, adjustable height and with seat backs that can be tilted forward or backwards. All of these features will make it easier to customize the chair to the user and will add to the overall comfort. Some chairs even have an adjustable seat depth so smaller individuals can sit with knees bent and still be use the back rest.
Step4
Find a chair that will be comfortable to sit in. It is especially important if the user will be sitting for many hours a day. Look for chairs with medium to high backs and a lumbar support for the lower back. Think about any special requirements the user may have, like having long legs. Make sure the chair will accommodate the user and if possible, test the chair to see if it is a good fit.
