Things You'll Need:
- Iron
- Thick bath towel
- Pad for iron
- Countertop ironing board
-
Step 1
Place a heavy bath towel over the countertop. Plug in the iron to heat it to the right temperature. Place a hot pad or other thick pad at the end of the towel to hold the iron.
-
Step 2
Lay the article of clothing on the towel and smooth it out. When the iron is heated, press out wrinkles on the padded countertop. Use steam from the iron or water from a spray bottle as needed.
-
Step 3
Use a countertop ironing board to get the job done conveniently. This gives you the best of both worlds. You can iron clothing on the countertop, but put everything away quickly and easily.
-
Step 4
Finish the ironing, unplug the iron and allow it to cool off in place while still protecting the countertop from the excess heat.
