Many women like to experiment with eye makeup, and it's perfectly acceptable to try different colors of eyeshadow. Black eyeshadow in combination with other neutral colors can create a sultry look. The key is to apply a generous amount onto the lower lid and blend a conservative amount towards the brow.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eyeshadow primer (optional)
  • Eyeshadow brush
  • Black eyeshadow
  • White eyeshadow (optional)
  1. Step 1

Take your eyeshadow brush and swirl it around your black eyeshadow. Use the larger fluffy side, if your brush is two-sided.

  2. Step 2

Tap the brush on the side of the container to get rid of excess eyeshadow.

  3. Step 3

Close your eye and apply a decent amount of black eyeshadow on the lower lid. The lower lid starts at the lashes and ends at the crease of the lid.

  4. Step 4

Use your finger and dip it into the black eyeshadow. Lightly run your finger over your lid, starting at the crease and continue with long strokes to your brow bone. Your brow bone should be the lightest gray, so that the eyeshadow goes from dark to light.

  5. Step 5

Blend your eyeshadow with your brush to create a smooth transition from dark to light.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use your finger to apply a thin layer of eyeshadow primer onto your entire lid up to the brow bone before you apply any eye makeup. The eyeshadow primer helps the powder eyeshadow stick to your lid and last longer throughout the day.
  • Apply white eyeshadow on top of the black eyeshadow to lighten up the color on your lid.
  • Dust loose transparent powder over your eyeshadow to avoid creasing lines.
