Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Dab the eyelid with an eyeshadow base and blend it into the eyelid. This will prevent the eyeshadow from creasing, smudging and streaking and it will also help make the blending process easier.

  2. Step 2

Line the top lid of each eye with black liquid eyeliner. Start in the inner corner and follow the natural curve of the eye outward, making the line thicker toward the outer corner. Extend the line about a quarter of an inch past the outer corner of each eye. Create a small line with black eyeliner on the bottom lash line.

  3. Step 3

Apply eyeshadow. Use a damp make up brush to apply the colors. Apply the darkest color into the socket of the eye to add definition to the eyes. Use 2 to 3 eyeshadow colors and be sure to blend them very carefully.

  4. Step 4

Curl the eyelashes. Curling the eyelashes will open up the eye area and add to the sexy, dramatic effect that the cateye make up creates.

  5. Step 5

Use false eyelashes if desired. False eyelashes will create a more sophisticated cateye look.

  6. Step 6

Put waterproof mascara on the upper and lower lashes. Apply two coats of mascara to the upper lashes, making sure to allow the first coat to dry fully before applying the second.
