Instructions

    • 1

Vacuum or use a dusting mop on your floors first to remove any dirt and dust. Make sure to use the vacuum attachment for hard floors; otherwise you may scratch the Pergo.

    • 2

Put 1 cup of vinegar into a large mop bucket and add 1 gallon of warm water.

    • 3

Place your mop in the mixture then raise it up and wring out any excess water. You only want your mop to be damp.

    • 4

Remove caked on stains, like food or beverages by using a mixture of ammonia and water with a soft cloth. For marks from crayons or ink, you can use denatured alcohol to wipe them away. For material that will harden the longer it sits, like candle wax, leave it until it is easily scrapped away with a plastic scrapper.

Tips & Warnings

  • You could also purchase Pergo's Laminate and Hard Surface cleaner as an alternative to the vinegar mixture. This mixture would be available for sale at home improvement stores.

  • Refrain from using soaps or other chemical cleaners on your Pergo floors. These types of cleaners may leave a thin film over the floor and leave your floors looking dull.

  • Never use a wax on your floors or refinish them.

I have the same problem and can't find a solution. The biggest mistake I made was actually buying Pergo floors in the first place. They are crap. After the first week I experienced scratches and when I called the manufacturer, he said they weren't guaranteed against scratches. DO NOT BUY PERGO EVER!!!
