Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider getting braces put on your teeth, as braces are the most popular treatment. Tightening the braces forces the bucked teeth into the correct position in the mouth. Although they can take many years to work, braces are effective at eliminating bucked teeth.

  2. Step 2

Speak with a dentist about using Invisalign to fix bucked teeth. Working much like standard braces, Invisalign is a series of clear, removable, plastic aligners that are custom-made for your teeth.

  3. Step 3

Wear a retainer which can help your teeth from moving. Since teeth tend to move forward with age, using a retainer can help to keep them in place.

  4. Step 4

Research dental contouring and tooth reshaping if your overbite is small. Usually in one session, the dentist can alter the length, shape or position of your teeth.

  5. Step 5

Determine if the bucked position of your teeth is due to jaw placement. In some cases, dental surgeons may want to operate and bring the lower jaw to a position that aligns better with the upper jaw, therefore eliminating bucked teeth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to visit a dentist at least once a year for a cleaning and exam. Taking care of your teeth is important in maintaining your overall health.
  • If your bucked teeth embarrass you and no treatment has worked, master the art of the closed mouth smile. Who said you have to see your teeth when you smile?
