How to Recolor an Image in Excel
You can easily recolor an image in Microsoft Excel 2007. When you recolor an image, the primary color of the image is changed to a different color. These colors may be darker or lighter than your original color.

Start Microsoft Excel 2007, and insert an image into a new spreadsheet, or open an existing workbook from your files that contains an image that you want to recolor.

Select the image that you want to recolor by clicking on it. The image will be surrounded by white sizing handles once it is selected.

Choose the "Format" tab at the top right of the Excel 2007 screen. The "Format" ribbon will be displayed just underneath the tabs.

Click the "Recolor" button from the "Adjust" section of the "Format" ribbon. A drop-down list will display showing you the recolor options for the selected image.

Hover your mouse over one of the recolor options in the "Recolor" drop-down list to see a preview of how that option would look applied to your picture. The options in the "Color Modes" section will change the primary color of the image. A selection from the "Dark Variations" section will change the primary color to a darker color while a selection from the "Light Variations" section will change the primary color to a lighter pastel color.

Opt for the option you want to use to recolor the selected image. The "Recolor" drop-down list will disappear and you will be taken back to your recolored image.
