Once you have created and recorded a macro in Microsoft Excel 2007, you will need to run that macro to test it and then use it to get the desired results. The "Macros" button in Excel will launch the "Macros" dialog box where you can select and run the chosen macro.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Excel 2007
  1. Step 1

Start Microsoft Excel 2007, and open an existing spreadsheet from your files that contains a macro you have already recorded and now would like to run.

  2. Step 2

Click in the place where the macro requires the insertion point to be, if necessary, so the macro runs correctly.

  3. Step 3

Choose the "Developer" tab at the top of the Excel 2007 screen to display the "Developer" ribbon.

  4. Step 4

Locate the "Code" group within the "Developer" ribbon, and click the "Macros" button to open the "Macro" dialog box.

  5. Step 5

Select the macro you want to run from the list of created macros in the "Macro" dialog box. The name of the macro will be highlighted in dark black once it is selected.

  6. Step 6

Use the "Run" button in the "Macro" dialog box to run your macro.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you created a shortcut key for the macro when the macro was first created, you can use the shortcut key to run the macro in place of using the "Macro" dialog box.
  • Be sure to save your spreadsheet before running a macro. This way you can re-open the spreadsheet before the macro results if the macro causes a mistake in the spreadsheet.
