Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional
Step1
Start Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, and open a PDF document from your files that contains a check box to which you would like to set or modify the options.
Step2
Select the "Check Box Tool" from the "Forms" toolbar. It is the second button and is depicted by a check in a check box. Once selected, the check boxes in your PDF will be highlighted in black with black sizing handles.
Step3
Right-click on the check box you want to set the options for and choose "Properties" from the pop-up menu. The "Check Box Properties" dialog box will open onto the Adobe Acrobat screen. Choose the "Options" tab from the top of the dialog box to display the options for the selected check box.
Step4
Choose the style of check box you want to use from the "Check Box Style" drop-down menu. You can choose to use a check, circle, cross, diamond, square or star. What you choose will be the shape the check box takes on in the form.
Step5
Type a value in the "Export Value" text box if you want to have a value returned other than the name of the check box.
Step6
Check the check box before "Check box is checked by default" to have the check box automatically checked on the form so a user has to get rid of the check mark rather than add it if they want to change the value.
Step7
Click the "Close" button to close the dialog box and save the check box options.
