If you know anything about playing pool, then you know how important your grip is to your cue and your shot. The grip absorbs sweat from your hands. More importantly, a shortened cue life may result from moisture on the cue. If your grip is worn out, it's possible to re-grip your pool cue.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pool cue
  • Scissors
  • Sandpaper
  • Irish linen wrap
  • Iron
  • Wood glue
  1. Step 1

Remove the old pool cue grip carefully and lightly sand the pool cue.

  2. Step 2

Select an Irish linen wrap in a color that compliments the style and color of your pool cue.

  3. Step 3

Cut the appropriate amount of linen wrap. There should be enough to cover the entire handle.

  4. Step 4

Press the linen with an iron to ensure that it's smooth and free of creases.

  5. Step 5

Apply a small amount of wood glue at the end of the pool cue. Attach one end of the wrap to the cue.

  6. Step 6

Pull the linen very tight as you wrap it around the pool cue. Start the wrap at one end and move to the other.

  7. Step 7

Place a small amount of wood glue at the end of the handle opposite where you started. Press the end of the linen to the glue.

  8. Step 8

Sand the grip lightly to make it smooth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't attempt to re-grip your pool cue if you have never done it before.
  • If you have an expensive pool cue, then you should have a professional re-grip your cue.
  • If you sand the grip too much, the linen fibers will fray, and your grip will feel rough.
