How to Shave With Conditioner. People who have sensitive skin often have reactions when shaving with a standard shaving cream. Shaving creams meant for those with sensitive skin are often very costly. Hair conditioner can replace shaving cream in your hygiene routine and won't irritate sensitive skin. Also, conditioner won't cause razor burn and it softens your skin.
Purchase a high quality hair conditioner. Choose a conditioner formulated for dry hair so that it provides you with a smooth shave. Dry hair conditioner provides extra silicone which smoothes the hair and softens the skin.
Soak your legs in warm water for 10 minutes. This softens the hair and relaxes the hair follicles making for a smooth shave. The longer you allow your legs to soak in the water the smoother your shave will be.
Apply the hair conditioner to your legs and massage it in to your skin. Allow it to sit for 3 minutes as you would if you were conditioning your hair. Use a generous amount to make for a smooth shave.
Shave with a multi-blade razor in the direction of hair growth. Rinse the razor after every stroke. Conditioner builds up quickly in the razor which can result in nicking your skin.
Reapply the conditioner if it dries on your skin before you finish shaving. Dry conditioner will plaster on your skin making it difficult to shave.
Rinse the conditioner from your skin using warm water and pat dry with a soft towel. Apply lotion or after-shave cream.
