How to Add a Jabber Plugin in Trillian

If you have a Jabber account, you can incorporate its use with your Trillian 2.0 instant messenger. After you have downloaded and installed the Jabber plugin, you simply need to follow the steps below to configure and setup your plugin so you can use Jabber along with Trillian.

Instructions

1. Start Trillian 2.0 instant messenger and allow for it to load. Minimize it on the system tray in the lower right side of your computer. Double-click the Trillian icon to open it onto your desktop.

2. Download and install the Jabber plugin you want to use with Trillian.

3. Right-click beside the Trillian icon in your system tray and choose "Connection Manager" from the pop-up menu. The "Connection Manager" dialog box will open.

4. Click the "Add" button in the "Connection Manager" dialog box and choose "Jabber" from the list of options that appears. The "Add Jabber Account" dialog box will open.

5. Enter your account name, username, server and password for your Jabber account in the text boxes in the "Add Jabber Account" dialog box. Click the "OK" button to close the dialog box.

6. Select the Jabber connection from the list in the "Connection Manager" and click the "Preferences" button to open the "Preferences" dialog box.

7. Type in your username, password and server once again. Click the "Save Settings" button to close the "Preferences" dialog box. Close the "Connection Manager" and use your Jabber account through Trillian immediately.
