Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Trillian 2.0
  1. Step 1

Start Trillian 2.0 instant messenger, and wait for it to load into your system tray on the bottom, right side of your computer screen. Double-click the Trillian icon and load it onto your desktop.

  2. Step 2

Choose the "Preferences" menu, and click "Plugins" to open the "Preferences" dialog box.

  3. Step 3

Select "News" under the plugins section on the left side of the dialog box so the news feed information is displayed on the right side of the dialog box.

  4. Step 4

Click the "Add Custom Feed" button near the bottom of the "Preferences" dialog box to open the "Manage Feed" dialog box.

  5. Step 5

Fill in the name of the news feed you want to add in the "Title" text box of the "Manage Feed" dialog box. Add the server name, location, port and refresh rate in the next set of text boxes. You can find the information you need to add here from the website you are getting the news feed from. The bottom section of the dialog box will give you a preview on how to enter the information to get the URL of the news feed.

  6. Step 6

Add a checkmark to the options to add the news items to your contact list, be alerted via a pop-up window of a new news item or to highlight new feed items.

  7. Step 7

Type in a number in the last textbox to indicate how many news items you want to be visible. Click the "Add" button to close the "Manage Feed" dialog box and "OK" to close the "Preferences" dialog box.
