A talisman is a simple natural object such as a precious stone or seed which is carried in a pocket for a variety of reasons. Talismans can be carried to call forth spirits as well, whether you are seeking protection from a spirit guide, counsel from a lost loved one or the strength of animal spirits. A few tips can get you started.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Talisman
  • White paper
  • Red ink pen
  • Small leather or soft cloth pouch
  1. Step 1

Choose your talisman according to the character of spirit you are trying to call to you. Sometimes the object simply speaks to you; however, you can also use the basic elements of certain substances to make your decision. For example, amber is protective, aquamarine attracts love and turquoise bring peace. You can choose shapes for their qualities as well, for example a serpent draws wise spirits, a fish represents family and a bee will help guide you to business success.

  2. Step 2

Decide whether you are trying to call forth a spirit energy in general, such as health, luck, success or fertility, or if you have a specific deity, person or other spirit in mind.

  3. Step 3

Call forth general energetic spirits by writing in one word the energy you are drawing to draw near you on a piece of white paper with a red pen. Fold the paper twice and place it and your talisman in a soft cloth or leather pouch and carry it with you at all times.

  4. Step 4

Get more specific and call forth particular spirits by writing the name on your white paper with red ink and again, folding the paper twice and keeping it with your talisman inside of a pouch in your pocket or purse.

Tips & Warnings
  • As a general rule, it is best to keep your talisman to yourself, as the energy of other people can quickly rub off and effect your spirit call.
