The first release of the arcade game Pac-Man was in Japan in 1979. Midway put the game on the market in the United States in the early 1980s and Pac-Man is now a household name. You can use the steps below to create an inexpensive toy Pac-Man for the little fan in your household.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Examine images of the original Pac-Man before you proceed.
Step2
Cut a wedge out of one side of the Styrofoam ball, using a serrated knife, to create Pac-Man's mouth. Based upon images of the original Pac-Man, make the mouth proportionate to the face; it consist of approximately one-third of the overall body.
Step3
Paint the Styrofoam ball yellow to match Pac-Man's signature color. Be sure to cover the ball thoroughly, and allow the paint to dry before proceeding to the next step.
Step4
Break a large toothpick in half and place each half next to each other at the bottom of the Styrofoam ball to create legs, if you wish.
Step5
Add eyes with black paint, if you so choose. Place the eyes symmetrically above the mouth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your Pac-Man toy will be more accurate if you choose not to add legs or a face.
  • Use a rubber ball instead of Styrofoam for a more playful version of the Pac-Man toy.
  • This toy can be a choking hazard and isn't designed for small children.
