How to Make a Good Zoo in Zoo Tycoon

In Zoo Tycoon, the key to gaining oodles of money is to attract oodles of guests and keep them happy. When they're happy, they hand over their wallets by the bucketload.

Instructions

1. Create two or three exhibits and fill each with at least two animals. Make people happy by bringing in animals that the crowd likes. Add donation boxes close to the exhibits as well.

2. Fulfill all of the needs of each animal--water, food and others--by clicking on the zoo keeper face found in the small box that opens up in the bottom right corner of your screen.

3. Hire enough zoo keepers and maintenance workers to care for the animals and the new exhibits. Also, bring in a lot of flora to surround the exhibits. Place plenty inside the exhibits as well.

4. Make a food court (with a drink stand, food stand and picnic tables) and add plenty of paths to make it easily accessible. Do the same with bathrooms and seating areas, and make sure that you have plenty of trashcans and recycling bins throughout your zoo. Be sure you have enough maintenance workers for these areas.

5. Keep tabs on your stores and food buildings. If they're losing money (the number is in parentheses), then lower the price of the goods or sell the building.

6. Build a compost building. Make sure it's away from where people walk; the smell makes them unhappy. The buildings are a bit expensive, but they don't have upkeep costs and they earn money very quickly.

Tips & Warnings

• When you have a bit of money, buy an aquarium and fill it with orcas, dolphins or anything that can put on a show. Make sure to add a marine specialist to care for the animals. Wait to add sharks until you have enough money to buy a special shelter for them.
• When you hire zoo keepers, assign one to care for two exhibits to save you money.
• Only add a building if people are asking for it. Otherwise, it won't bring in much profit.
