Most wireless service providers offer non-customized ringtones for users who maintain active service. For some users however, the choices do not reflect their style or personality. One way to get additional tones is to access them through a paid ringtone site. To get free ringtones on a Verizon Wireless ENv, follow a few simple steps that cost the user time rather than money.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose the song to use as a ringtone. Download it into a music-playing device such as an MP3 or CD player.

  2. Step 2

Adjust the song's volume to a level that sounds adequate. Now get ready to operate the cell phone and the music-playing device at the same time.

  3. Step 3

Start the video recording process on the ENv phone while simultaneously pushing the play button of the CD or MP3 player. It should not matter if one device begins slightly before the other. The key is to start them both around the same time.

  4. Step 4

Record about 20 seconds of video and music on the ENv. Stop both the handset and the music-playing machine. Next, send the recorded video and music to the Verizon Wireless ENv that just made the recording.

  5. Step 5

Wait for the video and music to download into the handset. Then save the received video in the ringtones section of the phone. The audio portion of the video now serves as a ringtone. Repeat this process to get free ringtones on a Verizon Wireless ENv.

  6. Step 6

Consider one of the standard ringtones already on the wireless phone. Although not customized these tones come free to users who maintain active phone service.
