There are many cooking recipes that call for egg whites only. But actually getting the egg whites is a process in itself. These short and simple steps will show you how to easily extract egg whites from eggs.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eggs
  • Small bowl
  • Egg pick

    How to Drain Whites from Eggs

  1. Step 1

    Get the supplies. Most grocery stores will have eggs and egg picks.

  2. Step 2

    Hold an egg over the bowl. Place bowl on the counter and hold the egg over it.

  3. Step 3

    Puncture the egg with the egg pick. Use the sharp edge of the egg pick and make a small puncture in the bottom of the egg.

  4. Step 4

    Drain the white from the egg. Hold the egg over the bowl while the whites drain.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use a small cup and leave the egg nestled on the top so it can drain without you having to keep holding it.
  • Always wash your hands after touching raw egg.
