Step 1
Your best bet to get rid of a skunk is to let it leave on its own. But most people need to get home immediately. Just remember DO NOT SCARE IT.

Step 2
You need to lore it out of the house using fruits or vegetables.

Step 3
It sounds obvious but i can not think of a better way except for throwing a sleep bomb or a really bad stink bomb or just shoot it(do not shot it that is cruel)
Any way, put the fruits in a line and hopefully it will follow the line -
Step 4
Make it far enough for the next step. At the end of the line leave a lot of food to make it stay there for a while.

Step 5
With out it SEEING YOU OR HEARING YOU get inside your home and patch any holes that it used to get inside the house.

Step 6
If all else fails call animal control.

on 6/20/2009 never shoot a skunk! besides the fact that it is cruel, the smell will be ten times worse than if it sprayed! your neighbors 20 houses away will suffer,believe me on this one!

on 6/20/2009 Just be quiet and careful, and you should be fine. The skunk will usually give you a slight warning first. He will stop and raise his tail slightly. I have chased them out of my garage lots of times and also trapped them, and have never been sprayed
