Step1
Desula standing on the Wii Fit board
INTRODUCTION
You will get a board with your Wii Fit. This is a scale, it measures your BMI, determines your Wii Fit age, which is how balanced you are. The assembly and calibration is very easy. ( I’ve used it 2 days and haven’t read the instructions yet. ) You set goals for weight loss here. The Wii keeps up with your exercise time daily with a little bank. Also, the more exercises you do, you will unlock other exercises in the categories listed below.
Step2
My Wii Little Warrior - The Actual Wii
YOGA
You will be able to start with 4 poses: Breathing Deep – Half-Moon – Warrior – Tree
These are very difficult, especially if you are an unbalanced couch potato such as myself. There is a yellow circle that determines your balance, and if you are doing the exercises correctly. There will be time to improve over the course of months.
Step3
The Wii Fit Bank keeps track of your minutes exercised. Aim for 30 a day.
STRENGTH TRAINING
Mercy gracious. Again, I don’t exercise –so these were very hard on me.
You will start with these exercises: Single Leg Extension – Push-Ups – Torso Twists – Jackknife – Lunge – Rowing Squats
Step4
Poor Mii
AEROBICS
Start off with the Hula Hoop. You contort and twist those hips keeping up a hula hoop (in the game). In the real world, I’m not good at the Hula Hoop – nor am I on a Wii.
But, I laugh the most when doing this exercise.
Step Aerobics – you step up up down down right left. It’s a happy tune with lots of other Wii characters. Again, being uncoordinated, I’ve got lots of room to improve on this.
Basic Run – You follow a pacesetter through a happy park. There are puppies in the park, other characters, it’s just so cheerful. You don’t run on the board for this exercise, but the Wii remote will measure how well you’re running.
Step5
BALANCE GAMES
Soccer – Ski Slalom – Ski Jump – Table Tilt – Tightrope
These games are a lot of fun. You’re improving your balance with these games. On soccer the balls come at you and you hit them by moving from left to right, avoid the shoes.
Ski Slalom is wonderful. You ski down a hill going through gates, left to right.
Ski Jump is easy. You squat down, and then POP up to jump with your skis on. You’re working those thigh muscles though!!!
Table Tilt is a fun little game. Your character is on a ball and you have to get it in the hole to the next level. You accomplish this by moving left to right, back and forth. Try it!! Oh it seems easy.
Tightrope – You walk in place on a tightrope between buildings. I haven’t gotten far on that, at all.

on 9/13/2008 Yes - I'm still using it 30 minutes a day. That along with a walk, and eating less and I've dropped a dress size in a month. I'm truding along on it.

on 6/23/2008 I am still using the Wii Fit. The "stupid" Wii scale will talk to you if you miss a couple of days. So I've got a guilt complex. It is set up in a way to encourage you to keep up with a program. It's still fun, and I'd still recommend it.

on 6/23/2008 Have read your article - am wondering if you are still WIIing? How is the commitment level? Really think this could be "the one" but don't want it to end up stacked in the corner with all the other stuff.
