The first step in longevity is believing it could happen to you. The power of your belief system is beyond written words. It is what helps underdogs win against all odds. It is the backbone of most miracles. I know many people are dependent on the knowledge they hear from doctors or from what they hear on TV or in casual conversation. I have studied anti-aging and longevity in my journey towards finding the best foods ever For starters I do believe the belief system affects us on a genetic level. That connection between your mind and your soul is really the communication between your mind and every cell in your body. You have the power to control your genes by controlling your thoughts and what you eat. Let’s take a look at a quick action plan that we could start today to take ourselves on a positive journey towards living to 150 years old.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • A positive attitude. Most people I meet say "Why would I want to live that long" because their belief system is that they will be in a nursing home at that age so why bother
  • Access to organic foods. Even if for only 1 meal or 1 day a week you can transition slowly.
  • Educate yourself - learn about superfoods. Read my articles at www.organicathlete.willbyron.com
Step1
Things to Add:
more fruits and vegetables
Superfoods
- Resveratrol which is found in grape skin
- Coconut oil which unfortunately most people say is bad for them, is actually an amazing product.

- Omega 3’s have always got a huge standing ovation on the anti-aging front because the Japanese who consume so much of it have a much longer life span than the western world. I get Omega 3’s from flax seed, hemp seed, avocadoes and Krill oil.

-Other Superfoods: Spirulina, Chlorella, Celery, Cacao, Goji Berries, Bee Pollen, Wild Honey, Maca powder, Blue Green Algae, Chlorella, Sprouts, Wheat grass, Barley Grass, Dulse, Kelp, MSM, Agave Nectar, Mangosteen and green tea

Antioxidants – Primarily Berries and green tea
Step2
Foods to avoid
Get rid of the hydrogenated oils, the high fructose corn syrups, the pesticides and herbicides, the food preservatives, the dirty water and the dirty air, Dirty air can be a tough one because there are so many factors. Don’t leave your windows closed all winter. Open them at least for 15 minutes a day to circulate the air. Another good suggestion is plants. Plants absorb carbon dioxide and oxygenate your house. Some good oxygenating plants are bamboo plants, chinese evergreen plants, Aloe Vera, and spider plants.
Step3
Exercising daily is another huge help for your body. Strength training especially has been known to increase human growth hormones which have been noted for their anti-aging properties. So many people go to anti-aging clinics which is a step in the right direction but some of the same benefits can be obtained from strength training.
Step4
Some other general items of interest in the arena of longevity is too eat less. This can be difficult for some people especially athletes who need carbs for fuel. However, whenever possible in between training cycles, or for one day here or there, eating lightly has been proven to help us live longer. Tests have been done in Russia on chickens which lived 3 times longer than other chickens when they were fed a small diet rich in raw organic foods.
Step5
We should also maintain an alkaline body as much as possible. Cancer cannot survive in an alkaline environment so eating alkaline foods, drinking alkaline water, and keeping stress at a minimum will keep you more alkaline and help your body keep minerals where they belong instead of using them to raise your alkalinity.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid Toxins A toxin is a substance that becomes poisonous in living creatures. There are a huge amount of toxins which enter the body on a daily basis that over tax our immune system, liver, kidneys, lungs, pancreas, lymph nodes, thyroid and digestive system. The air we breath, the food we eat, the water we drink and our belief system which creates stress, all cause toxins to accumulate in our bodies. There are a number of ways to detoxify the body. You can drink high PH ionized water; you can use grasses, herbs, roots, barks, fiber, etc. Everyone has a unique situation but I believe something to be consistent with everyone. We all eat, we all drink and we all breath. This process by default will accumulate toxins in our system. The Isagenix™ programs www.antiaging.isagenix.com do a great job to incorporate ingredients which aid in the detoxification of our lungs, digestive system, liver, kidneys, etc. There are other suggestions I could make that I have done myself or intend to implement in the near future.
  • Increase the amount of Oxygen generating plants in your house such as Aloe Vera, Chinese Evergreens and Bamboo plants. Plants give off oxygen and take harmful carbon dioxide out of the air increasing the oxygen levels in your home. Plants are living energy and will grow with the presence of your positive energy towards them.
  • Use a shower filter
  • Filter your water using a reverse osmosis triple filtering system which also Ionizes the water
  • If you drink bottled water look for High PH spring water such as Fiji 7.5 ph , Iceland Springs 8.0 to 8.5 ph or Evamore 9.0 ph
  • Have access to organically grown vegetables or grow your own.
  • Experiment with Sprouting of seeds. Sprouts are rich in chlorophyll and enzymes
  • Work on reducing stress. Yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, exercise as suggested by the IsaGenix™ program, relaxation CD's, and deep breathing (Oxygen is extremely Alkaline)
  • Avoid Cigarettes
  • Avoid Coffee (Experiment with Organic Herbal Teas and Yerba Mate)
  • Avoid Alcohol (Wine may have the anti-aging magic of resveratrol but alcohol is a neurotoxin Get the resveratrol from Grape skin, raspberries and peanuts)
  • Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup it may just be one of the leading killers in our food
  • Avoid Aspartame
  • Avoid Refined Sugars, Diminish intake of processed grains (both increase Insulin Levels)
  • Avoid Partially Hydrogenated Oils, fast food (Hydrogenated oils are another one of the worst foods to put in our bodies to sustain good health
  • To avoid stress introduce foods slowly and get rid of bad stuff slowly so your body adapts to the change. Your body will want more of the good stuff and less of the bad stuff as time goes on.
  • Do your own research on the long term side affects of prolonged use of Antibiotics
  • Avoid Microwaving
  • Cook Less. Proteins and enzymes have been proven to be destroyed by the cooking process
  • Research the long term affects on eating excessive non-organic meats and dairy products
  • Take antioxidants (A, C, E, powdered fruits (Isafruits™) before during and after extreme exercise
  • Use natural or organic Shampoos, Body creams, toothpaste, Mouthwash, Sunscreen, Soaps and repellants. All these products go into your bodies. (Would you eat them?)
  • Eat smaller amounts of food several times throughout the day (4 to 6).
  • A general rule is drink half your body weight in water during the day. More if you are extremely active and slightly less if you are sedentary. Many people sit behind a desk all day drinking water and go to the bathroom 10 times during the day. Your body is doing its best to eliminate the excess water and in the process minerals are leached from your already mineral deficient body
  • Learn about Colonics, the harmfulness of Candida, and Brain Chemistry (Serotonin, Dopamine)
  • Get at last 15 minutes of sun per day.
  • Avoid Large fish which may carry Heavy Metals.
  • Consider getting rid of Silver fillings which contain mercury
  • Electromagnetic pollution from cell phones , electronic devices such as computers and power lines affect our cell membranes. Look for solutions that can minimize the affects of these environmental toxins such as www.biopro.com/willbyron
  • Music affects us on a cellular level. Listen to more music
  • Every cell in your body is regenerated every 7 years. Every 2 years % approx 90% are regenerated. Give those cells the best nutrition ever and you will see amazing results. Rebuild yourself with Isagenix™!
  • Find yourself a great Naturopathic practitioner. Their schooling involves years of health, wellness and nutrition classes and they are very well rounded and usually spiritual people that really care about the preventative side of your health.
  • Smile, be joyful and have the most fun and awesome day ever!! You may be eating something organic but if you are stressed out it goes down like poison.
