Things You'll Need:
- For Cake:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 cup flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon desired flavoring: lemon, almond, orange, pineapple
- 1/2 cup milk

Step 1
*Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

*Add cream butter with sugar. Add 2 egg yolks, beaten. Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together. Add alternately with milk to the sugar butter mixture.

*Beat the egg whites until stiff (but not dry) and fold batter gently.

*Pour over pineapple-brown sugar icing.

*Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until it is thoroughly done.

*Cool for 5 minutes.

*Turn the pineapple upside down cake on to a plate or tray.
