How to Eliminate WinReanimator on a Computer
WinReanimator is malware, or something meant to harm your computer that deceptively poses as a helper. This program interferes with the normal operation of your computer and will slow it down as well as interrupt your time with continual pop-ups even after you close them. This is known as rogue software. WinReanimator is very frustrating and stubborn to eliminate. Software programs you have previously used to eliminate spyware, viruses and malware usually will not work. However, you should not have to purchase new software for this purpose. These steps will help you eliminate WinReanimator and reclaim your computer.

1
Determine that your computer is in fact infected with WinReanimator. This malware can cause computer malfunctions, including disabling all of your security software, even Windows Firewall. You must take care of this immediately. Pop-ups, along with Internet speed slowdown, are the main symptoms of having WinReanimator.
-
2
Go to the Control Panel and remove this program. A pop-up screen will appear as an Internet Web page. This will not eliminate WinReanimator or the pop-ups it creates.

-
4
Save your work and close out all other programs, including Web browsers. The fewer software and items you have running on your computer during the scan, the better.
-
5
Click "Perform Quick Scan." This runs a scan on your entire hard drive (usually C: or D: or both). This may take about 20 minutes, depending on what type and size files you have on your computer.
-
6
Click "OK" and "Show Results" when the scan is complete. This is very important; you will have to run the scan again if you skip these steps. Check the boxes and remove all of the infections. If it cannot remove them all, restart your computer, and it should remove them at startup.
-
7
Run Spybot Search & Destroy free anti-spyware software as an extra precaution (see Resources). Do not enable Internet Explorer protection, however.
-
8
Restart when the scan is complete and turn on your firewall (in Windows Firewall, check the green radio button).
-
9
Turn your anti-virus software back on. If it is not installed (look in the programs list in the Control Panel), reinstall your anti-virus through a CD or download it from the Internet. If it is installed, run a virus scan and fix any problems it lists. WinReanimator should not pop up anymore and should be completely removed from your system at this point. You should not see any further pop-ups or alerts.

Tips & Warnings
Simply removing WinReanimator from the registry or your programs will not eliminate this software. You must follow all these steps.
