Of course, you're already a cool dad, but there is no harm in being even cooler. Check out these simple steps to being a cool dad and see if you don't already have what it takes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first step to being a super cool dad is to spend time with your little tyke. That doesn't mean being in the same room watching TV together or being on your computer while she plays. Instead, a cool dad interacts with his baby, one on one, for an allotted amount of time each day. It could be reading to him or playing games. Just that you're together is most important.

  2. Step 2

Emulate good habits. If you don't want your little one to smoke cigarettes, drink soda, eat junk food or pick up any of your other bad habits, don't do it in front of him. You are his role model and he looks up to you. He wants to copy you. Practice good habits (at least in front of your child.)

  3. Step 3

Be affectionate with your wife. This will help your kid learn what a healthy relationship should look like. Being respectful to your wife demonstrates to the child to also be respectful to mommy.

  4. Step 4

Give piggy back rides, bounce him on your knee and let her ride on your shoulders. You may feel like a jungle gym sometimes but who else is going to wrestle her to the ground while making tiger noises.

  5. Step 5

Don't give them everything they want but do give them everything they need. Daddy knows best. They might want McDonald's and may complain if you won't buy them the Big Mac they can't finish anyway but, in the end, those healthy banana pancakes you make them for dinner will win way more smiles and beneficial results.

  6. Step 6

Tell them that you love them, everyday.

Tips & Warnings
  • Get locks for bedroom and bathroom doors or anywhere else you don't want your toddler barging in on you.
