Wedding invitations are the first step to making your wedding a reality. The wedding invitation should be unique to the couple who are saying, “I do,” and should reflect their relationship. What better way to bring it all together and show the couple's love than with a picture? Adding a photo to the wedding invitation makes the invitation as unique as it can be. The following steps will help you create a wedding invitation as special and unique as your relationship.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Picture(s) of your choice that you can download onto the computer
  1. Step 1

Go to the Shutterfly website (see Resources below). Choose the “Thank You Greeting Cards” option.

  2. Step 2

Select the style and design for your wedding invitation from the options, and click on the style you choose.

  3. Step 3

Click on the “Get Pictures” button. Click on the “Browse” button and find the photo or photos that you want to add to your invitation. Click on the photo and then click on “Open.” Click on the blue “Next/Add Now” button at the upper-right side of the page to upload the photo. Wait for the transfer to take place. The window will automatically close when the transfer is complete. It may take a few minutes. If you choose to add more photos, you can do so by repeating the same steps.

  4. Step 4

Select “Layout,” hit “Next,” click on “Click to Add a Greeting” and add the desired text. This is where you add your invitation message and information. Choose the font, size, color and alignment of the font and click “Update Text.” Click on “Click to Add a Closing,” add the desired text and repeat the process of choosing the font.

  5. Step 5

Click on “Save as a Project,” and save your invitation creation just in case something happens. It is always nice to have it saved so you won’t have to start all over in the event that your computer shuts down or you want to change your design later.

  6. Step 6

Click “Next,” and choose your desired printing option. You can either choose to print the invitations yourself or have Shutterfly print and mail them for you.

  7. Step 7

Preview your invitation and make any corrections or changes. If everything is correct and meets your satisfaction, then hit “Next.” Choose the quantity and payment method, and you are finished.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose a photo that represents and reflects the relationship between you and your fiancé. Choose an invitation style that reflects you as a couple.
  • Make sure that you proofread your invitation closely, since this is the first impression of your wedding.
