How to roll a joint How to roll a joint

Rate: (4 Ratings)

Rolling a joint is the easiest way to prepare tobacco for immediate consumption.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • a rolling paper and some tobacco or other product
Step1
Position the rolling paper with the sticky side up, and facing your body as you hold it.
Step2
Place the tobacco, etc. on the paper carefully and evenly throughout. Don't put too much, half of the paper on either of the two folds should be visible.
Step3
Close the two folds of the rolling paper with your left hand and with your right hand grasp the joint at its bottom CAREFULLY. If you are not careful the tobacco will fall out.
Step4
Now that your right hand is clasping the joint, you can let go with your left hand and use it alongside the right hand in a smooth rolling motion. The idea is to roll the tobacco that is pinned inside the paper in such a way that it becomes like a tube shape and becomes firm.
Step5
Roll for some time, and when you feel that the tobacco is a little firm and is properly shaped you roll the tobacco within the paper so that it is very close to the edge of the non-sticky side of the paper, and roll the paper up until you reach the sticky part. This rolling motion will tighten the joint. Once the joint is tightened you simply lick the sticky side and roll it on top of the joint.
Good luck!

Tips & Warnings

  • Loose tobacco will fall out of the sides of the joint so use a paper clip to press it into the joint and roll up the two ends of the joint so that no tobacco can fall out.
  • 1.25 papers are the best for beginners because they provide plenty of paper for a single joint.

on 10/11/2008 Nice! To avoid a bulge it works to make two piles at each end of the paper and position you fingers on the piles rolling as you go. The piles come together to form a straight "joint."
