How to Throw a Powerful Spinning Backhand

The nuclear bomb of backhands is the spinning backhand. The spinning backhand uses centrifugal force to maximize the power that you can get out of a backhand. This technique is somewhat slow and briefly leaves you in a vulnerable position, but the successful backhand will knock your opponent off his feet.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A soft target
  1. Step 1

    Turn your body to the side. You will use your backhand to execute the spinning backhand.

  2. Step 2

    Turn your body and keep your back arm away from your body, slightly bent.

  3. Step 3

    Straighten your arm when you are 75% done with your spin.

  4. Step 4

    Strike your target just below the knuckles on your backhand.

  5. Step 5

    Follow through and complete the spin by returning to your original position.
