for those of us who would much rather make peace than make war... these are some tips i find useful to avoid an argument.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • a still tongue
  • a smile
  • another exit route
Step1
Not every thing under the sun someone does or says is worth your defining word. I have found that if its something that could be fixed by a simple apology or something that you can let roll off your back this time then let it go. Also there is always that glazed look you can try. You know the one, the- I’m listening (but really I’m planning dinner in my head) look(Save up your strenght for the big stuff. You’ll have more of an impact when it counts).
Step2
Lighten up

Try laughing more things off. Find a way to see and up side. Try also not to take yourself too seriously. If it’s an insult that you want to steer clear of try making a joke ( oh you find I’m gaining some pounds… yeah I’m on that new pizza and ice diet, its great!)
Step3
if all else fails run!
If you have tried avoiding and you have gotten to the point that –
You have laughed it all off till you start to resemble some stand up comedian (and your face hurts)…
If your were to sidestep one more snappy comment you just might trip over someone …
Well, then there comes a point to head for the hills. Start avoiding those people all together. Find somewhere else to have lunch and a new group to associate with altogether. You are worth more that this.

Tips & Warnings

  • some people there is no going around. go through!hehe
