Kids these days spend a lot of time using the computer. Follow these tips to keep them safe.

Step1
Educate your kids: Talk to them about the possible dangers. Tell them to never give out their personal information, including phone numbers, address, name, etc. Tell them what to do if a stranger makes contact and to always let you know immediately.
Step2
Set ground rules. Let your kids know what is allowed and what isn't.
Step3
Use parental controls. Block sites that you don't want them to have access to. Parental controls are usually a feature of your internet security program.
Step4
Monitor your kids. Keep their computer where you can see them online, and take a look at their buddy lists on a regular basis for any red flags.
Step5
Ask your kids on a regular basis what it is they're doing online, what their favorite sitses are, if they are blogging, etc.
Step6
Never let your guard down for a minute!
