How to save money by cleaning the dryer lint screen

Does it seem you have to add time to the dryer to dry clothes. By cleaning the lint screen you may need less time and save a few dollars in the process

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sponge
  • soap
  • dryer lint screen
  • towel and/or canned air

Step1
Remove lint screen from dryer and moisten with water. get sponge soapy with soap and water.
Step2
lightly run sponge over screen if you push to hard you will stretch out the screen. Rinse screen with water.
Step3
You may need to repeat prior step if water does not flow freely through the screen.
Step4
When water runs freely through the screen dry the screen with towel rubbing softly. Canned Air works great for corners if needed.
Step5
Wait till screen is dry and place back into dryer.

Tips & Warnings

  • If water does not flow through screen then it needs to be cleaned. How often the screen needs to be washed differs by each dryer type, soap, and how often the dryer is used.
  • Do not push on screen through the steps it will stretch out the screen
