Make an Alternative Rock Playlist

Making an alternative rock playlist is not as hard as it seems. A playlist is simply a compilation of songs pieced together into a list. Compiling songs can be done on many different file sharing networks or on websites where you are required to pay for the songs. Websites such as Limewire and WinMX are file sharing sites that let you download music for free but carry a risk of releasing viruses. Paying money is required on websites such as ITunes and Napster and there is a much lower risk of viruses. Here is how to make an alternative rock playlist.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a playlist to your specifications. Picking alternative bands such as Creed, Alter Bridge, AFI, Audioslave and Lifehouse will give you a start. Once you have a list of bands that you like, you can start your playlist.

  2. Step 2

Arrange your songs. Organizing your songs is done depending on your preferences, whether you want the songs ordered chronologically, alphabetically or by preference. The order that you choose is up to you.

  3. Step 3

Obtain the songs on your alternative rock list. The websites mentioned above have a search function so that you can find specific songs. Search for your songs by typing in the title and/or artist.

  4. Step 4

Add songs to an iPod. If you are adding your alternative rock playlist to an MP3 player, you should go to iTunes. When using iTunes, you will need to enter your songs in the reverse order; for burning your playlist onto a CD, go to a program along the lines of Windows Media Player or Real player and from there you can enter them in the regular order.

  5. Step 5

Enter all of your songs, whether it is a CD being made or a playlist that is being added to an iPod. If this is your first iPod, you should drag and drop all of your songs to the main library of iTunes and then select all songs. Drag and drop them into your iPod's library, which is located right below the main library. Once your alternative rock music is synced for the iPod or converted for the CD, your playlist should now be complete.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some additional alternative rock bands to add to your playlist are: Nickleback, Three Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, and Three Days Grace.
