Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Purchase a spiral notebook and two white poster boards from a local store. Then, decide what type of theme you want for your party. Once you have decided your theme, it will make the rest of the party much easier to coordinate.

  2. Step 2

In the spiral notebook, write out categories on each page for things that you will need. Your categories may include: food and beverages, party decorations, music, venue, invitations, party guest list and party favors.

  3. Step 3

After you have written out your party sections on each page, go back in detail and list everything that you want and need for your party. If you have a budget, make sure you set a budget for each section so that you stay within the overall budget. For example, in the "Food and Beverages" section, you would list all of the food and beverages you want to have at your party. So, you would list "birthday cake" and write out what type of cake you want, what it will look like (tape a picture in if possible), and where you will get the cake made. In the "Venue" section, you will list where you would like to have the party and the cost of that venue (i.e. VIP table at a club, ballroom at hotel, etc.)

  4. Step 4

Once you have completed the lists in the notebook, divide up each section. Assign a reliable family member or friend to each section. The person who is assigned to each section must complete the tasks listed by a set date of your choice.

  5. Step 5

Write the section and tasks on the posterboards. Then, write each person's name who is assigned to the section next to it.
