Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Read the weather report with your children. This not only helps their reading skills but lets them know what tomorrow's outfit should be--long sleeves and jeans, t-shirt and skort, or capris and a top.
Step2
Set the clothes out the night before. This avoids debate and discussion in the morning and also makes sure the children know what to put on.
Step3
Avoid clothes that the child can't zip, button or close themselves. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to do something you simply can't do. If your child's outfit includes an impossible button, swap that piece out for something else.
Step4
Include footwear. Shoes and socks are part of getting dressed and should be part of your child's process. If you don't wear shoes in the house, set them near the door you use to leave in the morning.
Step5
Don't forget the morning toilette. Children aren't fully dressed until their teeth are brushed, hair is combed and sunscreen (in summer) is on face and arms. You can help by pre-loading the toothbrush, getting out the hair clips and brush and being in charge of sunscreen, but make it a habit to finish off to get your kids set for the day.
