Step 1
Just like any shoes, size is key when selecting snowboarding boots. Most snowboarding boots run about the same in size as typical shoes. Sometimes you will find that you need a slightly smaller size of boot than you would normally select in a shoe. A good fit means the boot will be snug and supportive.
-
Step 2
Decide whether a 1-piece or 2-piece boot is best for you. Most people choose 2-piece boots, but 1-piece options offer the ability to reach faster speeds and have less flex.
-
Step 3
Make sure the boots are 100 percent waterproof. This will make your time on the slopes much more enjoyable and keep your feet protected.
-
Step 4
Good grip on the sole helps for walking while not on the board.
-
Step 5
It is also nice to have a liner that can be lifted out to air/dry if you've had sweaty feet. You will also want to make sure the liner can be tightened inside the boot.

Step 6
The weight of the boot is important, too. A light-weight boot is a good choice if you plan on working on tricks and jumps.
