How to Explore Space Online
The Internet has opened up a lot of possibilities for people that didn't exist before. Not only can you research people and places, visit museums virtually, and converse with others from all over the globe, you can even explore space. Those of you who wanted to grow up to live on Mars or explore the stars now have the opportunity to not only view images from afar, but be part of the action via the Internet.

Run, don't walk to the Worldwide Telescope web page from Microsoft Research. This is a brand new virtual telescope experience that will leave you gasping. Great for kids, this free download allows the viewer to see the earth as any space explorer would, as well as gives you the chance to see different cities on earth from a panoramic view. You'll need Windows XP SP2, so grab your mouse and get clicking (see Resources).

Turn your desktop into a window to space by downloading one of too-many-to-mention space screensavers. There are both free and programs to purchase that offer everything from a 3D view of the planets to specific views of planets like Juno and Pluto. Simply type in "space screensavers" to get a list of possibilities.
