Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Designated craft area
  • All your craft materials
  • Bins
  • Jars
  • Baskets
  • Shelving
  • Cabinets
  • Desk
  • Cupboards
  1. Step 1

Designate the craft area. You should decide on a location for your crafts. It will depend on the type of crafts you are designing as to how big or small of an area you will need. Make sure you plan for additional space that you may need in the future. This area could be inside or outside, a full room or a specific area of it or simply around a desk or counter spot. Select an area that will work best for the craft.

  2. Step 2

Select places for all of your craft materials. The main thing to keep in mind when selecting the location of your craft materials is to have all of the regularly used items within easy reach. Again, it depends on the particular craft, however you can pick areas to place these items so they will be close by you.

  3. Step 3

Set up the craft area with containers and useful spaces. You can spend a lot of money on various containers, shelving, baskets, jars and so on or you can use what you already have. It also is a good idea to start with a few containers or spaces and then add to them, as you need to. If you have a closet, desk area or counter space, you may not need to add much to it. Use your imagination, do research or consult a professional for help in your design and set up of your craft area.

  4. Step 4

Test your craft area for easy access and formulate adjustments (if needed). As you are designing your craft area continuously check your setup for easy access. You should actually use the area to be sure the craft materials and any other objects involved can be readily attained. Make any changes needed now or in the future to allow this.
