Host a Vintage Jewelry Party

If you enjoy vintage jewelry and socializing with friends, you can make money hosting vintage jewelry parties. Many women would love to own vintage jewelry but don't have the time to track it down at estate sales and antique stores. You can profit by bringing the jewelry to them when you host a vintage jewelry party. Here's how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Read up on styles of vintage jewelry. Your local library should have a wealth of books on the topic as well as field guides that will help you identify various styles of vintage jewelry and their makers. Become knowledgeable about the different vintage jewelry manufacturers so you help people make their selections.

  2. Step 2

Spend several weekends in a row attending local estate sales and garage sales in search of interesting vintage jewelry pieces. Buy as many pieces as you can with the help of your guide books to determine value. You can also buy wholesale lots of vintage jewelry on Ebay. Be sure to buy from a reputable seller.

  3. Step 3

You're now ready to prepare for your vintage jewelry party. Make a list of everyone you know who enjoys jewelry and fashion and send them a postcard advertising your vintage jewelry party.

  4. Step 4

Decorate your living room with vintage knick-knacks and play vintage music on the evening of your party while serving light coffee and refreshments. By setting an atmosphere, you'll help to put your friends in a buying mood. Display the jewelry attractively on black velvet boards at your vintage jewelry party.

  5. Step 5

Encourage your guests to try on the pieces and show them how to incorporate vintage jewelry into their wardrobe. Be sure to have lots of mirrors available at your vintage jewelry party so people can see how they look wearing the pieces.

  6. Step 6

As people check out, ask them if they would be interested in hosting a vintage jewelry party of their own. Have a book available for people to write down their email addresses so they can be informed of future parties.
