Instructions

    • 1

Unwrap the chocolate kisses and the licorice so that you will be able to make your ice cream cone clown fast without melting the ice cream in the process. Set the candy in easy reach.

    • 2

Place an unfolded cupcake wrapper flat on a plate - paper plates are ok to use and easier than glass plates to deal with in the freezer. Put one generous very round scoop of your favorite flavor of ice cream into the center of the wrapper. Push a second scoop of ice cream into the sugar cone. The cone will become your ice cream cone clown hat.

    • 3

Stick the ice cream cone upside down on top of the round scoop of ice cream so that the point of the cone sticks up at a rakish angle. Now you will have to work very quickly so that the ice cream does not melt. Push the two chocolate kisses into the ice cream near the base of the cone for the two eyes. Push a maraschino cherry into the ice cream to make a clowns fat red nose. Then cut a piece of red licorice so that it fits where the clown's lips should be.

    • 4

Use the tube of pre-made colored decorator frosting to create a frilly collar for your ice cream cone clown by spreading the frosting in a squiggly line at the base of the round scoop of ice cream. Add a frosting "pompom" to the tip of the cone to complete the hat.

Serve immediately or else place on a tray in the freezer until you are ready to serve. Don't make this more than a couple of hours ahead of time or it will absorb some of the smells of the freezer.
