Hang Pictures on a Concrete Block Wall Without Using a Drill

Hanging pictures on your walls can make any room more inviting. Having concrete or hard walls should not inhibit you from decorating as you choose. Here is how you can hang pictures on your walls without needing a drill.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hard Wall Picture Hangers
  • Hammer
  • Picture
  • Hard Wall
  1. Step 1

SELECT THE RIGHT HOOKS. Hard wall Picture hangers come in a variety of sizes that will determine the load bearing ability of the hooks. You can get the hooks at any hardware store.

  2. Step 2

PLACE THE HOOKS. Find where you want the hanger to go and place the flat part of the hanger against the wall with the hook toward the floor and the three metal prongs toward the ceiling.

  3. Step 3

MOUNT THE HOOK. Using a hammer strike the metal prongs at the top of the hanger until they are flush with the plastic of the hanger.

  4. Step 4

HANG THE PICTURE. String a picture hanging wire across the back of the picture frame and hang the wire over the hook portion of the hanger.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure the hangers you choose will hold the weight of your picture.
  • If you want several pictures to be level with one another, measure and mark where you want to place all the hangers before you hammer them into the wall.
  • Watch your fingers when you hammer as the plastic can make the hammer rebound.
  • Try not to hit the hook when hammering as the hammer can break the hook if struck too hard.
