Things You'll Need

  • Medium saucepan
  • 10 oz. frozen peas
  • Small saucepan
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • Colander
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    • 1

      Simmer one bag of frozen peas in a medium saucepan for approximately 5 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.

      Melt the butter in a small saucepan on medium heat. Stir in flour gradually so it is well mixed.

      Pour in the milk and add the sugar. Stir until the sauce thickens, which will take approximately 5 minutes.

      Drain the cooked peas with a colander. Add the peas into the saucepan with the sauce.

      Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste and serve.

Tips & Warnings

  • Serve the creamed peas with toast to your kids.

  • You do not need to cook the peas first. If you are in a rush, just add the frozen peas to the sauce. Or defrost the peas in the microwave.

  • You can also serve creamed peas with brown rice and roast chicken.

  • Let the peas cool first before serving to young children.
