Turn on any ceiling fans and open the windows. The key to cleaning mildew and freshening up your walls is to allow fresh air into your home.

Find a good-sized bucket and fill it halfway with warm water.

Add about 1/2 cap of detergent and mix into the warm water. Add about 1/4 cup of bleach and mix well. Use gloves and avoid getting the mixture on the carpet or on the floor where pets may consume it.

Taking your brush, gently scrub in problem areas until the brownish-green mildew disappears. You can typically find mildew on shower walls, cielings, or elsewhere.

After you scrub all of the fungus away, pour out the bleach mix and fill the bucket with water. Taking a clean rag and remove any excess bleach or soap from the walls.

If the mildew isn't coming about, consider using Tilex in your shower. Spray it on the walls and allow it to soak in for a few minutes. The fungus should come right off.

Rinse any bleach or Tilex off of your walls when you are finished.

put some vinegar in a bowl and let sit in room with mold , vinegar will kill the mold spores...
