Making an ordinary bologna sandwich is pretty good, but frying the bologna makes it even better! Plus with the addition of a few more items, makes it the best. Read on if you want to know more.
white bread (much better than wheat in this instance)
Step1
First, we need to perpare all the ingredients. Warm up a can of chili on the stove in a sauce pan on very low heat. Too much heat will cause the chili to burn on the bottom. Then, take your onion and dice into small cubes.
Step2
Now, grab yourself a good non-stick pan and heat it up at Medium-high heat and about a tablespoon of butter. Once melted, place the bologna in the butter and let cook. As the bologna heats, it will form a bubble and pop up in the middle. Hold the bologna down to keep it flat for the first couple of minutes to make sure it warms up all the way through.
Step3
* After this, flip the bologna and do the same thing with the other side. Now comes my favorite part. This is optional, but I will remove the spatula I am using and turn up the heat a little (just enough to put a little crunch around the edges). Once cooked to your liking, place the slice (or more, I usually use two) between two pieces of bread either toasted or not toasted.
Step4
The final step is to add mustard, chili, and onions. Now that I have wrote this article, I think I will go and make myself one. Hope you enjoy!
Tips & Warnings
Texas Pete is never a bad addition to a bologna sandwich either!
