Rate: (4 Ratings)

Many people are trying to be more mindful of the environment and to reduce waste and chemicals. You can grill green if you follow these simple tips.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Hardwood charcoal
  • Chimney starter
  • Hickory or mesquite hardwood chips
  • Veggies
  • Recycled serve ware
Step1
Use hardwood charcoal instead of brisquettes which are filled with chemicals. Hardwood charcoal is made from untreated scraps that would have ended up in a landfill.
Step2
Instead of lighter fluid, use chimney started, or the hardwood charcoal that has it built in. (Whole Foods Market has it)
Step3
Buy local and organic foods for the most flavor and freshness
Step4
Use recycled serveware if you must use disposable.

on 5/19/2008 Good tips! You can also make your own charcoal, but it's labor-intensive. I like Cowboy Charcoal, personally.
