In an effort to eat a healthy but delicious meal, many of us resign ourselves to various chicken dishes. This recipe is healthy, flavorful, and easy to make. Recipe serves 4.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 Salmon fillets, center pieces
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. and 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  1. Step 1

Combine vinegar, water, lemon juice, and brown sugar in a bowl and mix. Set aside.

  2. Step 2

Wash and dry salmon. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet on high heat. Make sure heat is high, but that skillet is not smoking.

  4. Step 4

Add salmon to skillet and sear until brown, about 4 minutes on each side. Cook on each side for 4 minutes, or until just done on the inside, don't keep turning the salmon.

  5. Step 5

Transfer salmon to plates and add vinegar mixture to the skillet. The mixture will sizzle and steam alot, so stand back.

  6. Step 6

Simmer mixture while stirring until thickened. Reduce mixture by about 1/3, for 2 minutes.

  7. Step 7

Spoon the glaze over salmon and serve!

Tips & Warnings
  • Dish served best with Jasmine rice.
  • For a carb-light dish, serve with vegetables.
