If you are prone to kidney stones or feel you are at risk of forming them, this advice may help you prevent the painful stone formation.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get plenty of exercise. Exercise helps encourage calcium to go to bone rather than stone formation.

  2. Step 2

Drink lots of water. 8 - 10 glasses of water a day is recommended.

  3. Step 3

Drink apple cider vinegar. Take approx. 1 - 2 tbs of apple cider a day to help keep your system cleansed.

  4. Step 4

Avoid colas and chocolate as they are rich in oxylates which attach to calcium and can encourage stone formation. Green leafy vegetables are also high in oxylates. Keep them in moderation.

  5. Step 5

Avoid supplementing your diet with extra calcium such as that found in antacids.
