Difficulty: Moderately Easy

  1. Step 1

Clip coupons. Coupon clipping may seem a little time consuming, but it is well worth it. You can save a lot of money when purchasing items using manufacturer’s coupons. Take a few seconds on a Sunday afternoon to review the Sunday paper’s coupon section. Also look out for double coupon days.

  2. Step 2

Utilize sales circulars. Sales circulars can be found in stores, mail or online. There may be days when you see a great deal on specific items. These are the days that you should take the time to buy food in abundance.

  3. Step 3

Buy meat or seafood from a market. Meat markets are an excellent place to bargain shop. Meat bought in large quantities can be cleaned, tightly packaged and frozen for future use.

  4. Step 4

Use fruit stands. Fruit stands tend to have fresh fruit at cheaper prices. You may also be able to find purchases like fruit that is four for a dollar, which may be less than by the pound at your local grocery store.

  5. Step 5

Try discount bread shops. Many times bread shops have bread, crackers and cookies on sale. Bread shops offer bread at a fraction of the cost. Feel free to freeze unused bread and thaw it by using a toaster oven conventional oven.
