Tips & Warnings

  • You will be able to fit an hour's worth of video on a single-layer DVD disc and two hour's worth on a double-layer DVD disc.

  • There is a difference between a DVD-R and a DVD-RW. "R" stands for "recordable," "RW" stands for "read-write." or " rewritable." R disc format can only be burned once: once you have written data to it, it cannot be erased. The RW disc format is both readable and writeable: it can be erased several times.

  • If you try to burn more shows than the allowable space for the DVD disc, Windows Media Center in Vista will compress the files. This will result in a reduced quality of the burned DVD.
