Find Work at Home Data Entry Jobs

We have all seen massive amounts of data entry advertisements. Working at home has become extremely popular, many say that finding a work at home job is difficult. While it is not easy, it may be easier then one may think. Here is how to find a work at home data entry position in your community.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer in good working order.
  • Printer.
  • Copier.
  • Fax.
  • Telephone.
  • Business cards.
  • Pleasant personality.
  • Computer and typing skills.
  1. Step 1

Build a network. Attend a couple Chamber of Commerce meetings in your community. Any business ran function will do. Talk with the business about their work. Do not worry about advertisement just yet, get to know the business community. Pass out business cards casually and while focusing on finding the need of the community. This can be done is large towns, but it may be easier done in smaller towns due to little local competition. Take business cards and make friendly business contacts. If your goal is mainly to work at home, be open minded to other possibilities. After finding what the real need of the business community is you may to focus on something else rather then data entry.

  2. Step 2

Offer a business what they need, right before they need it and your business will prosper. Stay in contact with your target market. Your target market is probably small family ran business' that are in need of expanding. In small towns look out for small offices that are having trouble competing with new business due to technology. Small vision centers and dental offices that have been around for centuries have sometimes not caught up to the technology just yet. The older offices sometimes is need of going through and putting old files into a database, while new business just need someone to put new information in their database. Keep in contact with them but do not force your business on them. If you have experience that may help their business, a small amount of free advice may go along way.

  3. Step 3

Work from home data entry can be a good first relationship builder, excel in what work is given and they may ask about others areas you can help them with. Set reasonable prices with the business that hire you to do data entry. Remember they are a business, if your relationship with them does not benefit them, they will not do business with you again. If they are happy and given great service at reasonable rates they will not only hire you again but refer you to others.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be positive, your first few contacts may not go anywhere but if this is really what you want others will see you mean business.
  • Make a point not to make excuses to the company and always have work done before deadline.
  • Business' that need this services often do not know were to look. So they tend just to overwork themselves. If you approach them in a way that hiring you would free them up to grown the business even more, your business relationship may be priceless to them.
  • Sending blind letters or business cards without meeting the owners is usually ineffective in this situation.

on 8/18/2008 DON'T BOTHER! IF A COMPANY ASK FOR MONEY FOR YOU TO WORK FOR THEM, THAT SHOULD BE FLAG NUMBER ONE. END OF STORY. 97% ARE ALL SCAMS. HAVE YOU EVER GONE FOR AN INTERVIEW FOR A REGULAR JOB AND THEY ASK FOR MONEY AND SAY, START ON MONDAY, I THINK NOT. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A JOB TO WORK FOR THEM. BUYER BEWARE, AND BE CAREFUL BECAUSE ALOT OF THEM MAKE YOU SEND MONEY WITH WESTERN UNION TO PLACES LIKE INDIA. YOU WILL NEVER GET THAT MONEY BACK.
